We had a great Christmas! We spent the week of Christmas in Pawley's with my parents and had such a great time just hanging out. One night we went to The Night of A Thousand Candles at Brook Green Garden's. It was freezing and so beautiful. We took the girls with so we didn't get to enjoy all that they had to offer because we had to stay on the move to keep the girls happy but all the lights and candles were so beautiful. One other evening we took the girls to the Aquarium (sorry no pictures) and they had a blast! Emma thought all the fish were so cool to watch. Mags enjoyed the fish too but her favorite thing was the fish slide!! Other than that we just spent our time playing with Grandma and Pok (still working on the spelling, Maggie has changed Pops name), and playing at the park! Wenesday before Christmas we loaded up in Pok's truck and headed back to Greenville. Adam had to work the week of Christmas so he took us down to Pawley's and Grandma and Pok brought us back to Greenville. On the way to Greenville some guy ran in to the back of us. Fortunately everyone is fine and Pok's truck only has a few bumps and bruises (wish we could say the smae for the guy that hit us, pretty sure his SUV was totaled). The only reason I tell the story is because Maggie slept through the whole thing!!!! Several deer ran out in front of us and my dad hit the brakes trying to stop so that we didn't hit the herd. We were going about 35 or 40 mph when the guy that was WAY behind us, who never even slowed down hit us at about 60 mph. I couldn't believe she never enough moved. Police cars, rescue trucks, ambulance, and not even a twitch. Emma on the other hand thought that she should join in on all the action and sat sweetly in her sit and smiled at everyone that walked by her window. We finally made it home and enjoyed spending Christmas and the weekend with my parents, Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Sammie.
The Sunday after Christmas Emma was baptized. We wanted to do it that Sunday since my Dad was home. Adam's family also came up for the baptism. It was so wonderfully to have our whole family there to witness her being baptized. This was truly a joyous time us. Her baptism being so close to Christmas really brought a certain reality to this special sign. Christ humbly came down from heaven and was born in a manger, was crucified and died, walked through hell and ascended into heaven so that those who believe are washed by His blood so that we are seen as pure and holy before God and may be with Him for eternity. All this for us and Emma. We pray that her baptism blossoms into belief at on early age and that Emma never know a time when she did not know Christ.
After a few days a rest we headed down to Troy on New Years Eve to spend a long weekend with Adam's family. We had a great time hanging out and playing with the horses (ALWAYS enjoy the horses even went it is freezing outside). Adam and I even got to go on a DATE!! What a luxury, and we fully enjoyed our time together.
